Starting at Intodata Netherlands: the journey of Shree
Looking back, starting at Intodata Netherlands truly feels like a blessing in disguise.
As I approach my one-year mark with this amazing team I can confidently say that it has become a natural part of my life, a place where I’ve blended in seamlessly, grown immensely and found genuine joy in what I do every day.
When I first moved to the Netherlands at the age of 18 to pursue a BSc in Econometrics and Data Science at the University of Amsterdam, I thought that was the biggest challenge life could throw my way. I arrived knowing little about Dutch culture, lifestyle, or even the language. Everything beyond India was a mystery. Overcoming that transition felt like a huge victory. Little did I know, that was only chapter one of a much bigger story that was about to unfold.
Fast forward four years into my studies, I had built a strong foundation not just technically but holistically. My electives in Human Resources sharpened my communication and presentation skills, while a minor in Musicology enriched my creative and cognitive perspective. On the technical front, my dual six-month internships, one as a Business Analyst at a startup and another as an HR Analyst at an MNC (Versuni, formerly Philips Domestic Appliances) gave me a taste of two very different professional worlds. I was ready and eager to step into the job market, even though it was a challenging one to penetrate.
One thing that became clear during my internships was this: while data is abundant everywhere from startups to multinationals, the real challenge lies in accessibility and quality. Analysts often struggle with fragmented, unclean or incomplete data. That realization inspired me to go beyond just the analytical front end and strengthen my technical expertise on the engineering side. My goal became clear, to grow into someone who can understand both worlds, bridging the gap between front-end analysts and back-end engineers, and ultimately play a pivotal role in managing data systems end-to-end.
That’s when the opportunity at Intodata came my way through a connection I had built during my earlier experiences.
“From the very first conversation, everything felt right. The interview process was clear, structured, and respectful. The communication was transparent and expectations were mutual. By the end of the technical round, I knew that my goals aligned perfectly with the company’s vision and vice versa.”
Even before officially joining, I had the chance to meet some team members and Frank, our Managing Partner, at a Workato partner event. Everyone I met was incredibly welcoming and down-to-earth. Frank himself was approachable, genuine, and easy to talk to, something you don’t often find in leadership. There was no hierarchy, no sense of distance just a collaborative, inclusive environment where everyone is valued equally.
When I officially joined, I was greeted with the warmest welcome; quite literally, with a huge bag of goodies! My onboarding experience was seamless, guided by the most supportive HR, Sanne! And a friendly “join-in buddy” who made sure I settled in comfortably. The training was structured, the pace was perfect, and within a month I was already contributing to a client project, feeling both trusted and supported.
What stands out to me most about Intodata is its culture. Regardless of experience level or role, everyone is approachable. Questions are encouraged, learning is continuous, and collaboration happens naturally. It’s rare to find such a non-toxic, flexible, and genuinely supportive work environment: one that truly feels like a family.
After four years of constant challenges, this past year at Intodata has felt like the reward, the fruit of perseverance. It’s been a year of learning, growing, and finding my place in a company that not only values its people but actively helps them flourish. I’m deeply grateful for this journey so far, and I’m excited for what’s next because if there’s one thing Intodata has taught me, it’s that growth never stops when you’re in the right environment.
